Friday Blog Nov 16 – more on the Literary Death Match

Okay, here’s what happens:

Four writers, three judges, two rounds, one epic finale.

The judges are Hannah McGill (writer and former director of Edinburgh International Film Festival), Andrea Gibb (screenwriter who adapted The Road Home by Rose Tremain and is working on Janice Galloway’s memoirs) and Julia Sutherland (comedian you may have seen at the Glasgow Comedy Festival or Edinburgh Fringe)

The writers – teams from Scottish Writers FC (Kevin Williamson, counterculture hero and founder of Rebel Inc which first published Trainspotting and Christopher Brookmyre who once described the Mitchell as “a vast untapped criminal resource”) versus the England Writers Football Team (Joe Dunthorne, poet and writer – noted for Submarine, which has also been made into a film – and Craig Roberts)

The teams are given a series of increasingly silly challenges and the judges decide. Bring it on!
