Friday Blog May 4 – National Reading Group Day

National Reading Group Day 2012 logoCalling all book groups!

National Reading Group Day is on Saturday 30th June and you’re all invited to spend the afternoon at the Mitchell.

At 2 o’clock Alex Gray, author of Glasgow Kiss and other DI Lorimer books, will speak about her Alex Gray photowork and her experience of reading groups.

We’ll have coffee and buns at 3pm, then it’s your turn to join in. You should all have a copy of Scotland’s Bookshelf and we want to know what you Scotland's Bookshelf book jacketthink of the twenty books that feature. What do you think has been missed off the list? Are there any titles you’d consign to Room 101? We have book group sets of some of the twenty titles – let us know if your group would like to borrow them.

Sat 30th June, 2-4pm. Free. Register at bookgroups@glasgowlife.org.uk

The day will mark the first birthday of the blog and no-one leaves the building without signing up! Since last June, we’ve had just over 8,000 hits and we have 64 subscribers. Our target  is to reach 9,000 hits and 75 subscribers by National Reading Group Day – so please tell your friends.
