16 Days of Action for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is a campaign that runs from today to the 10th December. The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence Against Women’.
There are a number of campaign events going on across Glasgow. Glasgow Life is showing support with displays of inspirational books which explore the many themes linked with violence against women. Look out for these displays in The Mitchell and in Library at GoMA and borrow the books for yourself or your group. White ribbons, bookmarks and event programmes are also available, free-of-charge.
16 Days 2011 is coordinated by Glasgow Violence Against Women Partnership Campaign’s Working Group, which includes representatives from Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Community and Safety Services, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Women’s Voluntary Organisations and Glasgow Life.
