Just back from the VIP book group at Partick, where Ann told us the film isn’t as good as the book (are they ever?) – though she thought Anne Hathaway’s accent wasn’t as bad as people have made out.
We read One Day in March and it really divided us, into a “loved it, couldn’t put it down” camp and a “hated it” faction. In other words a good book group read – isn’t it boring when everyone agrees (especially if everyone likes it)?
You can read what Philip French and Peter Bradshaw made of the film – and we’d love to know what you thought of it – or the book. Or whether you think adaptations are ever successful. A quick straw poll here at Blog Towers has come up with To Kill a Mocking Bird – great book, great film.
