The BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction 2011

Happy 4th of July!  Just a note to all booklovers about the BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction 2011.  Sponsored by the BBC, the prize aims to reward the best of non-fiction and is open to authors of all non-fiction books in the areas of current affairs, history, politics, science, sport, travel, biography, autobiography and the arts.  This is the UK’s most prestigious and richest prize, worth £20,000 to the winner.  As part of Books on the BBC 2011, a special edition of The Culture Show, fronted by Andrew Graham-Dixon, will feature coverage of the shortlisted books and authors.   (BBC2, Thursday 7th July, 7.00pm.)
